Managing Covid once the borders open

  • You will be required to check in using the Checkin Qld app.

  • Face masks must be fitted before entering the premises.  If you do not have a face mask, you will be given one for $1.00.  The mask must be worn properly at all times while in the building. No exemptions are valid.  If you are unable to wear a mask, please telephone 5448 9200 for a Telehealth consult.  If you are accompanying a patient and unable to wear a mask, you will be asked to remain outside or in your car.

  • Proof of vaccination is a condition of entry.  Very few patients would qualify for an exemption against vaccination because of a serious medical condition, & it is likely that you have been informed of this by your treating specialist.  Let us know if we are unaware.  You may need assistance from family or friends to get your Digital Certificate onto your phone.  The easiest way is to link your Digital Certificate with the Checkin Qld app or save your Digital Certificate onto your phone.  Your paper copy of the Medicare Digital Certificate is acceptable if you do not have a smart phone.

  • If you have any symptoms, you must not enter the building.  You will be offerred a Telehealth appointment and asked to get a covid test and return a negative result.  If you are a current patient to the practice and return a positive result, your GP will manage your care via Telehealth and escalate your care if required.  We are unable to manage the care of Covid positive patients who are not already registered at the practice.

  • If your child has any symptoms, please phone for a Telehealth appointment.  Please do not bring symptomatic children into the practice.  You will be asked to get a Covid test for them and return a negative result.

  • If you are not fully vaccinated, you will be offerred a Telehealth appointment.  If this is your first appointment or you have not attended for more than 12 months, the Telehealth consultation fee cannot be bulk billed & will not be rebated by Medicare.  If you are attending for your 2nd dose vaccination, phone us to let us know you are in the car park.  You will be asked to wait in your car until the nurse is ready for your appointment.  The nurse will then phone you to come in to the building.

  • If you are unvaccinated with symptoms and require more urgent attention, we recommend not to delay and go straight to Hospital Emergency Department or to the government funded Respiratory Clinic where staff can attend to you in Personal Protective Equipment more readily.

Covid 19 vaccines

You must have 2 doses of the same vaccine type.  Please ensure you have noted the correct date for your 2nd dose before booking your booster at 5mths.   If your GP has told you that you are immunocompromised, your 3rd dose is due 4-6mths after your 2nd dose.

New patients are required to phone us to book their appointment & will need to bring a health summary from their regular GP.

All patients - bring or send us or your completed consent form or come early to your appointment to complete, prior to seeing our clinical staff for vaccination.
